Does mouse infestation have a distinct smell

Mice are a very complicated species. They evolved with us like dogs and cats, they are in every way the same as a pet, the only difference is that we don’t like them and we don’t want them around. Yet, we still feed them, give them a place to sleep, and do everything we would for our pets, we just don’t realize we’re doing it. Mice are categorized into three major groups that exist in southern Ontario. The house mouse is the white and brown spotted mouse that everyone knows from Disney films and of course, seeing them running around your home. The deer mouse is a different animal, a wild mouse that does not often live in human homes. They are also very dangerous and carry ticks that can cause humans to get an incurable illness called Lyme Disease. This illness has a 24 hour incubation period with no symptoms and after which the Lyme disease is permanent. So if you have been near brush or piles of leaves or have been on a hike make sure to check everyone, humans, dogs, and children, for signs of ticks. If you find one, get it off with whatever method you choose.  if you are experiencing a rodent problem, call Mouse Control Toronto

Mice in homes do have a distinct odour but it is not because they aren’t clean. Mice are some of the cleanest animals on earth, constantly bathing and testing their food before they eat it to make sure it won’t make them sick, this is because they do not have a gag reflex like larger animals have. They also tend to sleep in messy nests of feces and bits of food which contrasts with their self-cleaning. This combination of dander and fur, feces, and urine makes a home smell damp and old. This is a common smell, one you have probably smelled before in an old building that is not being kept up. Or in your grandmother’s house, as she no longer notices the sounds they make. This smell is so common that it is used to describe certain types of homes. The smell has been named: Musty. A smell that combines rancid and old mould. It is not a nice smell and it’s a good reason to call an exterminator. If you have a mice infestation in your attic then the situation will be much more extreme and the smell will have spread thoroughly through the home.

If you require such an extermination call  Mouse Control, we have everything you need to not just get rid of the mice, but the smell as well.
