The field mouse is the most unusual of the mice species common to southern Ontario. They can leap impossible distances allowing them to jump from tree to tree and onto your roof with absolutely no issue or difficulty at all. They can then enter your roof by simply flattening themselves out and sliding through the fascia vent or between a gap in the soffits. They can squeeze through any tight space just like any mouse and can condense their bodies down to one-third of the size. This allows them to enter the attic directly. House mice always enter through the bottom of the house often infesting the basement before even getting to the first floor.
